How do you approach to the job?
Since most of my work is sculptural, I spend a lot of time sketching ideas I’d like to turn into a dimensional object. The original sketches are simple and I add details as I build the piece. Sometimes I get stuck on how to build a piece, so I usually have three or four partially built projects that I can come back to.

Are you always satisfied with the final result? If not, what do you do?
On many projects, by the time I’m near completion, I think there’s a better way I could have built it or painted it, but I’m too impatient to start over. I will make some small modifications to finish the piece, but then it’s on to a new piece. Unfortunately, I work too slow and I have way too many pieces I would like to work on.

Where do you find the inspiration?
Inspiration is everywhere! Whether I’m reading a book or magazine, watching tv, grocery shopping, or while cooking. I might see an interestingly shaped bottle at the market or get inspiration from a cooking utensil I’m using and I’ll throw together a sketch.

Seeing at the world or is just something inside of you?
I love to travel and it’s amazing to see how different people adorn their cities, buildings, and objects. You see lots of things you didn’t think would work together, but somehow they do.

What are your artistic preferences and and how do they influence you?
I’m currently fascinated by steampunk, anime, and mecha art; toy artists like Doktor A, Kathy Olivas, and Michihiro Matsuoka; Stephane Halleux, Tim Burton, Moebius…

Most of my current work and ideas are about combining in some way various animals, robotics and machines.

What’s your hobby?
Currently my art is my hobby, but I’m working on making it my job. Otherwise, I travel and I’m into photography.

Qual’è il tuo approccio al lavoro?

Poiché la maggior parte del mio lavoro è scultoreo, spendo un sacco di idee e tempo in schizzi che mi piacerebbe trasformare in oggetti tridimensionali. I bozzetti originali sono semplici e io aggiungo dettagli mentre costruisco il pezzo. A volte mi blocco sul come costruire un pezzo, quindi ho di solito tre oquattro progetti iniziati su cui posso tornare a lavorare.

Sei sempre soddisfatto del risultato finale? Se no, cosa fai?
Su molti progetti, una volta completati, penso che avrei potuto costruirli o verniciatrli in modo migliore, ma sono troppo impaziente di ricominciare. Faccio alcune piccole modifiche per finire il pezzo, ma allora passo a un nuovo pezzo. Purtroppo, io lavoro troppo lentamente e ho troppi pezzi su cui vorrei lavorare.

Dove trovi l’ispirazione?
L’ispirazione è ovunque! Se sto leggendo un libro o una rivista, guardando la tv, fare la spesa, o cucinando. Posso vedere una bottiglia dalla forma interessante al supermercato o trarre ispirazione da un utensile da cucina che sto usando e li metto insieme con un bozzetto. Guardando al mondo o è solo qualcosa dentro di te?
Amo viaggiare ed è incredibile vedere come persone diverse adornano le loro città, edifici e oggetti. Si vedono un sacco di cose che non pensavi potessero funzionare insieme, ma in qualche modo lo fanno. Quali sono le tue preferenze artistiche e e come ti influenzano?
Attualmente sono affascinato dallo steampunk, anime e l’arte mecha; artisti di giocattoli come Doktor A, Kathy Olivas e Michihiro Matsuoka, Stephane Halleux, Tim Burton, Moebius …

La maggior parte del mio lavoro attuale sta nella combinazione di diversi animali, robotica e macchine.

Qual è il tuo hobby?
Attualmente la mia arte è il mio hobby, ma sto lavorando per renderlo il mio lavoro. In caso contrario, sono i viaggi e la fotografia.
